Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I found myself far removed from the flashing lights of the film industry, and yet the lights were there, reeling me in. Growing up, I was always watching movies, and always watching twice--first to experience it for myself and then to watch when and how others would react. I used what I had. Living in a relatively small town, all I had were people, and their stories, and my knowledge of film. All of which has blended together in my work, in the hopes of creating compelling content.
After years of producing videos for pleasure, I was hired by a luxury boutique to make videos full-time. It became a weekly challenge to see how I could push myself and my work to the next level--breaking boundaries and capturing the essence of the boutique's brand. This was my schooling. This is where I absorbed every experience, every piece of feedback, to produce my own vision in storytelling.
Having spent three years at the luxury boutique, I've now begun to explore freelance work, searching for people worth filming and stories worth telling. To me, it has always been about finding the heart of the brand, the story, the people and highlighting it in a deeper way.
